Economic Stress, Employee Commitment, and Subjective Well-Being

COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented health and economic crises across the world. Millions of businesses have been obliged to shut down, millions jobs lost. These effects a very severe economic-related stress level, which can consequences on psychological well-being (PWB) commitment (EC). This study examined relationships between objective subjective indicators income-related employment-related PWB EC. The 697 participants were contacted during peak pandemic. sample includes private-sector employees, civil service self-employed, furloughed unemployed. Results show that produced by COVID-19, as estimated compound income-and stress, negative effect (r = .21, p .001) EC .29, .001). Multiple regression showed was main predictor PWB, positive affect, affect deprivation predictors its three components, affective, normative, continuity. Finally, contribution some practical implications findings are discussed.
